15 Oct 14th EuGMS in Berlin
Advancing geriatric medicine in a modern world: this was the topic of the 14th European Geriatric Medicine Society Congress which took place from October 10th to 12th in the magic city of Berlin. This year the congress reached an unprecedented number of participants! Professor Finbarr Martin, the EuGMS President, welcomed more than 1800 attendees from 65 different countries who enjoyed more than 80 scientific sessions sharing their ideas and their academic researches with over 1000 submitted abstracts. The conference saw also the participation of great honour guests such as Professor Jack Rowe from Columbia University, one of the leading lights in the field of geriatrics. This has been a great opportunity to learn and to improve the geriatrician network thanks to the high level of the scientific contributions and the comfortable and friendly atmosphere which accompanied all the 3 days of congress. “I think that the Berlin Congress will be remembered for its dimensions, its smoothness and for its scientific programme” – stated the Congress President, Professor Jurgen Bauer – “The final feedback has been extremely positive”.
