Green Congress

Starting in 2022, the annual editions of the SIN and SIMI National Congresses have been held in a fully green format.

The National Congress of the Italian Society of Nephrology – from design and planning to execution – implemented strategies and procedures aimed at reducing environmental impact. Notable actions included a significant reduction in paper and plastic waste: the Congress program was made available exclusively online and on the Congress app, as well as all ECM materials. Certificates of attendance were sent only in digital format via email; participant badges were printed on recycled paper without plastic badge holders, and special attention was given to catering, using recyclable and low-impact materials.

Similarly, the goal of the National Congress of the Italian Society of Internal Medicine was to organize a sustainable event: the Congress program was distributed only through the app, while ECM materials were available solely on the event’s official website. Certificates of attendance were also available exclusively online, contributing significantly to environmental protection and the reduction of paper waste.
